Student Organizations can be instrumental in helping you adjust to life on campus. The University of South Carolina has nearly 300 diverse student organizations for you to get involved with. Getting involved in a group that interests you can help you network, meet new friends, and develop leadership skills. You can also seek out volunteer opportunities that relate to your major. The Information Science Student Association (ISSA) is a good place to do all that and more.
ISSA promotes service opportunities, educational enhancement programs, career awareness programs, social activities, and opportunities to network with fellow Information Science students and employers. In addition, it provides IS students with leadership opportunities and tutoring and mentoring resources.
