Established in 2009, the Baldwin Business and Financial Journalism Endowment Fund supports student and faculty initiatives that include research, symposia, lecturers, visiting professors, student assistantships and related programs.

The Baldwin Business and Financial Journalism Lecture Series

Begun in 2015, the lecture series brings accomplished business and financial journalists to the university to share their expertise. SABEW Conference Attendance

Founded in 1964, the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing is an organization that promotes the quality coverage of business and economic events and issues. The Baldwin Endowment pays to send select SJMC students to SABEW’s annual conference to enhance their ability to interpret and communicate fiscal matters.

Business and Financial Journalism Workshop

The School of Journalism and Mass Communications hosted the Baldwin Pre-Collegiate Fellowship in Business and Investigative Journalism in conjunction with the Carolina Journalism Institute in June 2016. Open to just 10-12 high school students, the workshop provided instruction on strategic web searching, Freedom of Information Act and Open Government, cutting-edge reporting practices and data analysis. Read about the 2016 workshop»
