About the Agency
The Carolina Agency students love a challenge and the opportunity to create solid,
award winning communication strategies and tactics. The student teams serve various
client categories including start-up companies, not-for-profits and university organizations.
Exceptional client service is the heart of our agency. The Carolina Agency clients
can access services including: branding strategies, creative support, communications
research, web development, social media initiatives, media relations and integrated
Clients accepted to The Carolina Agency work with a team of students to create and
implement innovative communications solutions. Engagements usually correspond with
USC’s academic semesters, but multi-semester engagements are also possible.
Organizations wishing to strengthen their brand identity, expand their reach, generate
innovative ideas and improve the quality of their communications are encouraged to

Joining The Carolina Agency provides students with resume enhancing "real work for
real clients." Skill sets sought at the agency include: writing, creative strategies,
digital media, social media, mass media, marketing, research, customer relations and
The Carolina Agency is open to students in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
Other majors desiring real world experience in communications strategy and tactics
are also welcome. Typical student engagement is a 3-hour elective course. Extra-curricular
opportunities are also available. Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged
