Dr. Meir Muller to Receive Outstanding Early Childhood Teacher Educator Award

The National Association of Early Childhood Teacher Educators named USC’s own Dr. Meir Muller one of two recipients for one of the organization’s most prestigious awards, the 2016 Outstanding Early Childhood Teacher Educator Award, for his outstanding leadership and professionalism as an educator of early childhood teachers.

Criteria for selection include leadership in the field of early childhood education, and fostering the professional development of students, beginning teachers and colleagues.

When asked for his response to the Association’s announcement, Dr. Muller replied, “I am humbled to receive this award and attribute the recognition to the wonderful mentors, colleagues and students that I interact with at USC.” He went on to explain that the reason he was selected for the award was a simple one, saying “My recipe for successful teaching is to honor the culture of each learner, prepare extensively for every class, and to view every student as having amazing abilities.”

The Outstanding Early Childhood Teacher Educator Awards are to be bestowed as part of a reception during the annual meeting of the National Association of Early Childhood Teacher Educators to be held in Los Angeles, California on the evening of November 2, 2016.
