All full-time faculty and staff are eligible to develop and submit proposals meeting the RFP criteria.
Funding Amount and Proposal Development Procedures
The maximum award amount is up to $5,000.
- The project should focus on something that benefits your own professional development as it relates to your job description.
- Develop a short proposal no more than three single-spaced pages that provides: (a) a brief discussion of the intent and significance of the proposed idea, (b) the goals and objectives of the project, (c) the overall details of implementation of the proposed project (i.e. what you will do), (c) a timeline of implementation, (d) brief details about how the project specifically aligns with the COE strategic plan, (d) an outcome evaluation plan to examine the effectiveness of the project, and (e) the anticipated benefits to the COE, your department, your program, and your own professional development. Please consider the Professional Development Funding Proposal scoring rubric when developing your proposal.
- Attach the following supporting documentation to the end of the proposal packet: (a) references, (b) statement of support from department chairpersons, if the department is also providing funds, this should be included in the letter of support, (c), a budget, and (d) a budget narrative (the supporting documentation will not count toward your page limit).
- Contact the COE grant office no later than three weeks before the deadline notifying them of your intent to submit a proposal. Completed proposal packets should be submitted to Dr. Susan Bon (email@example.com) by 5:00 pm on the application deadline dates listed above. You will receive an e-mail confirmation.
The criteria used for evaluating the proposals are provided in the PDF Proposal scoring rubric. Successful proposals will be announced within six weeks of the proposal deadline. Successful applicants are expected to share their experiences with the faculty and staff within their department.
