The Department of Instruction & Teacher Education at the University of South Carolina’s College of Education seeks a full-time 9-month) Clinical Assistant Professor in Middle Level Education to begin August 16, 2017.
The successful candidate will join a team of faculty and will be expected to: (1) teach 4 courses per semester in the nationally recognized undergraduate program in Middle Level Education program, (2) provide service in the areas of accreditation, quality assurance and program governance, (3) participate in student orientation and advisement, and (4) collaborate within our school- university partnerships.
Applicants must have: (1) an earned doctorate in middle level education or related field, (2) teaching experience relevant to middle level education, and (3) expertise in social studies and/or literacy/English language arts. Preference will be given to applicants who possess (1) college teaching experience; (2) experience working with teacher candidates in clinical settings; and (3) demonstrated interest in preparing teacher candidates to work with diverse student populations.
