"The Carolina Scholar award is, first and foremost, an opportunity! I am grateful for the generosity of USC’s donors who continue to support higher education and invest in our future. My decision to attend USC was a direct reflection of the belief that the scholars community held in me to challenge myself and my peers throughout our four years and beyond. I have been provided with countless opportunities, which have motivated me to reach for and achieve my goal of conducting research on the underlying mechanisms of neurodevelopmental disorders. Through this program, I have been encouraged to apply for, and win, several research grants, present my findings at local research symposiums and national conferences, and conduct research in a range of different areas, both within and outside of the USC community. I am thankful for the unique experiences that have been afforded to me by the Carolina Scholarship and for the unwavering support of the individuals who make this program possible."
