HRSM Scholarships

In addition to university and state scholarships, a variety of college- and department-level scholarship opportunities are available to HRSM students. The college offers general academic scholarships as well as travel scholarships. Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis.

 

HRSM General Scholarships

The application period for HRSM general scholarships is closed for 2017.

Applications for general scholarships are accepted in the spring application period. The following scholarships are available at that time:

College of Hospitality, Retail, and Sport Management (HRSM)

College of HRSM Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in the College of HRSM

College of HRSM Endowed Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate students pursuing a major in the College of HRSM

Henry D. Jacobs, Jr. Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate students pursuing a major in the College of HRSM; enrolled full-time (12 or more hours); family income of no more than 2.75 times the current national poverty level as determined by the University’s Financial Aid/Scholarship Office*

George Rogers Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in the College of HRSM

Department of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management (HRTM)

Bob and Anna Tronco Williams Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in HRTM

Pooser Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in HRTM; demonstrated financial need*

Bonefish Grill Scholarship: Current rising junior and senior undergraduate students pursuing a major in HRTM

Larry Ginocchio Memorial Scholarship: Current undergraduate students pursuing a major in HRTM

Tom B. Pearce, Jr. Scholarship: Incoming freshmen pursuing a major in HRTM; minimum GPA of 3.0; ranked in top 10% of graduating high school class; minimum SAT scores of 1300*

Mr. and Mrs. Phil E. Pearce Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in HRTM*

Jack Weatherford Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in HRTM

M. Walker Pearce Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in HRTM

E. Ellison Walker Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in HRTM

Charles B. Walker Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in HRTM

Chef John Peduzzi Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in HRTM

Department of Retailing (RETL)

Retail Scholarship Fund: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in RETL; enrolled full time (12 or more hours)

Piggly Wiggly Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in RETL

Department of Sport and Entertainment Management (SPTE)

Dan Reeves Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate students pursuing a major in SPTE

Craig S. Kelly Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate students pursuing a major in SPTE

Blayne Brown Memorial Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in SPTE

Coca-Cola Scholarship: Current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in SPTE

Harold A. White Scholarship: Current graduate student pursuing a graduate degree in SPTE

Weems O. Baskin, Jr. Scholarship: Incoming freshmen or current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a major or graduate degree in SPTE; minimum GPA of 3.0

 


Travel Scholarships

The application period is now closed for 2018 travel scholarships. The travel scholarship application period for 2019 will open in the fall semester of 2018. At that time, the following scholarships will be available:

Patricia G. Moody International Travel Scholarship

Scholarship(s) may be awarded to provide support for international initiatives including internships and field studies to a worthy student (graduate or undergraduate) who is a major in one of the baccalaureate or graduate programs in HRSM.

Donald E. Stowe International Travel Scholarship

Scholarship(s) may be awarded to provide support for international initiatives including internships and field studies to a worthy student (graduate or undergraduate) who is a major in one of the baccalaureate or graduate programs in HRSM.

HRSM Alumni Society Domestic Travel and Industry Conference Scholarships

The HRSM Alumni Society will fund scholarships toward a college-sponsored domestic travel course/trip and toward industry-related conference attendance/travel.

 

HRSM Alumni Society International Travel Scholarship

The HRSM Alumni Society will fund scholarships toward a college-sponsored international travel course/trip.

Application periods vary depending on the scholarship.

University of South Carolina Scholarships

Non-Institutional Scholarships Opportunties

Non-institutional scholarships can be based on a variety of criteria including but not limited to academic merit, financial need, community service, area of study, organizational affiliation, place of residence or employment, and ethnic or religious background.

American Hotel and Lodging Educational Foundation Scholarships
