College of Mass Communications and Information Studies

Giving

The College of Mass Communications and Information Studies is growing — in numbers, scope and ambition. We want to do more, and we can with your help. Consider the opportunities you can create with your gifts to the college. Here are a few that are important to us. Let us know what is important to you.

Areas to Support

Augusta Baker

Cocky's Reading Express

Cocky and his volunteers travel to South Carolina elementary schools to inspire children to become reader leaders in their homes by reading to family and friends. They read and act out Cocky's favorite books and give each child a book to take home.

Dean's Circle

A donation of $1,000 or more to the Dean's Circle qualifies donors for membership and allows Dean Bierbauer to meet immediate needs of the college, such as scholarships, bringing speakers to campus, support student competition teams and more. In return, members are invited to unique events throughout the year.

New Journalism School Building

The School of Journalism and Mass Communications is moving back to the heart of campus in 2015. Construction began in January 2014 to renovate the School of Public Health, and the J-school is slated to move in summer 2015. The contributions from our alumni and friends are part of these important efforts.

Scholarships and Fellowships

We always value your assistance to directly aid the people at the core of the college. Major projects do not diminish the need to provide undergraduates with scholarships, graduates with fellowships and faculty with growth opportunities. Such funds can be targeted to particular interests or provided so we can gauge the most immediate needs.
