Background

Rita Dixon hails from Jacksonville, Florida.  She completed her undergraduate degree in Sociology at the University of North Florida in 2003.  She attended the Medical University of South Carolina Physician Assistant Program and graduated in 2008; after which she worked in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.  Rita has worked at the USC SOM PA Program since 2016 and currently serves as Admissions and Communications Chair, Clinical Assistant Professor, and is the primary faculty member in charge of student recruitment.

Rita lives in Columbia and has three sons.  When not spending time with her family, her interests include: Gamecock sports, traveling, beach vacations, and live music.
