Dr. Foertsch graduated from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, WI, with a B.A, an M.A. from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champagne. She has worked in educational measurement at a number of nationally recognized institutions, including the Educational Testing Service, the American Dental Association, the North Central Regional Educational Laboratory, the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. She is currently at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine where she is Director of Program Assessment and Continuous Quality Improvement for the MD and PA programs.

An avid reader, Dr. Foertsch is never without and good book and her dog, Winston. During her career, she has traveled widely and continues to be amazed by the natural beauty of this world and its people.
