'CHRO Conversations' delve into C-suite human resources leadership

October 27, 2016

The Darla Moore School of Business has posted the third video in its “CHRO Conversations” series with Melissa Cee, Chief Human Resources Officer at TIAA Global Asset Management. Cee spoke with human resources professor Anthony Nyberg about the developing role of HR within individual businesses.

The “CHRO Conversations” are recorded during visits to the Moore School by Chief Human Resources Officers who come to the school to share their insights with students in the Masters of Human Resources program. These C-suite HR officers are part of efforts by the Moore School’s Center for Executive Succession to gather information on emerging issues and trends in human resources. CES serves as an objective source of knowledge about the issues, challenges and best practices regarding C–suite succession and is a leading center for state-of-the-art research and practice on executive succession.

The opportunity to hear from senior business leaders in a one-onn-one setting is one Nyberg recognizes doesn’t come around often for students, making it that much more beneficial.

“This atmosphere creates knowledge sharing between faculty thought leaders, senior executives and students and provides opportunities for students to network and converse with business leaders of the leading international organizations,” he said. "Such exchange of ideas benefits students by exposing them to the latest ideas from business, faculty by exposing them to the real-world problems that businesses face, and business leaders by exposing them to cutting-edge research.”

The Center for Executive Succession hopes to bring more top business professionals to the school to continue this open dialogue. Watch Cee’s and other conversations on the Center for Executive Succession pages.
