Darla Moore School of Business

Department of Economics

The Department of Economics at the Darla Moore School of Business has a distinguished faculty with research interests covering a wide range of topics in the field. The department offers undergraduate degrees in economics at both the Darla Moore School of Business and the College of Arts and Sciences. At the graduate level, we offer programs leading to Master of Arts and Ph.D. degrees.

Undergraduate Economics

Two degree programs in economics are available:

  • The business economics concentration from the Darla Moore School of Business
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science in economics from USC's College of Arts and Sciences.

All economics courses are taught by faculty at the Moore School. Students earning a degree from the Moore School take additional business core courses, while students earning a degree from the College of Arts and Sciences take more courses in nonbusiness subjects.

Master of Arts in Economics

The Darla Moore School of Business’ Master of Arts in Economics program combines a solid foundation in economics with an emphasis on applying that knowledge to real-world situations. While the program prepares students for careers as professional economists in government and business, some graduates use the degree as a springboard toward further education in law or a doctoral degree in business or economics.

Ph.D. in Economics

This well-established doctoral program offered through the Department of Economics features a comprehensive yet flexible curriculum and prepares students for careers as research economists in academic, government and private settings.
