Learn how to audition

Required for application:

• Cover letter stating your intent to audition for the Carolina Band and your personal goals as a student at the University of South Carolina
• A twirling resume
• Full length picture in costume
• List of references
• A performance video

After review of the submitted materials and video, selected candidates will receive an invitation to audition live for a panel of judges.

All application materials must be at the University of South Carolina School of Music Band Office no later than Friday, December 13, 2013.  You will be notified by January 17, 2014, if you have been selected for a live audition. The date of that audition will be communicated in your audition notification, but it will not conflict with any MAJOR competitions. 

It is also recommended, but not required, that all candidates apply for early admission to the University of South Carolina.

Some things that the video should include:

• Competition performances (in costume)
• On the field performances
• Pep rally performances
• 1, 2, and 3 baton skills
• Gymnastic skills (optional)

A completed application must include:

• Cover letter
• Resume (including high school G.P.A.)
• List of references
• Full length picture in costume
• DVD

All materials must be delivered to the USC Bands office by Friday, December 13, 2013.
