Partnership Board

The USC College of Nursing Partnership Board serves as engaged advocates who are committed to increasing resources that advance nursing education by building positive lifelong relationships with alumni, donors and the community.

Board Members

  • Beth Bernstein

    Beth Bernstein

    Bernstein is a Democratic member of the S.C. House of Representatives. She is also a partner with Bernstein and Bernstein Attorneys at Law. She is an alumna of the USC School of Law and the University of Georgia.

  • Cheryl Bullard

    Cheryl Bullard, J.D., BSN

    Bullard is deputy general counsel and chief public health counsel for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. She earned her BSN and J.D. degrees from the University of South Carolina.

  • Toriah Caldwell

    Toriah Caldwell, MN, APRN, FNP-BC

    Caldwell is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the USC College of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner and Director of the Children and Family Health Care Center, a USC Specialty Clinic owned and operated by the CON.

  • Jeanne Cavanaugh

    Jeanne Cavanaugh, MN, RN

    Cavanaugh is an alumna of the USC CON, where she earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing. She is the Director of Clinical Partnerships at the USC College of Nursing. She is a founding member of the Partnership Board.

  • Kenneth Childs

    Kenneth L. Childs

    Childs is a managing partner with Childs and Halligan, P.A. He earned his B.A. from Davidson College, M.A. from Furman University and his J.D. from the USC School of Law. He is a founding member of the Partnership Board.

  • Stacy Collier

    Stacy Collier, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CENP, CPHQ

    Collier is the Chief Nursing Officer for KershawHealth in Camden, S.C.  She is a ’97 BSN and ’00 MSN alumna of the USC College of Nursing.  Collier is vice chair of the Partnership Board and chair of the nominating committee.

  • Sonya Cook

    Sonya Cook, MSN, FNP-BC

    Cook is an ANCC certified family nurse practitioner and an ’05 alumna of the USC College of Nursing. She is currently enrolled in the college’s DNP program and hopes to work in sleep medicine upon completion.

  • Anita Easter

    Anita Easter

    Easter is an alumna of the USC College of Nursing and the North Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She is the director of First Community Bank. Easter is a founding member of the Partnership Board.

  • Emily Eicher

    Emily Eicher

    Eicher is the board's student representative. She is a junior BSN student. Eicher volunteers at Ark Hospice and participates in various Greek honor and service organizations and mentoring programs.

  • Greta Green

    Greta Green, RN, MS, MSN

    Green is the chief nursing officer for the ContinueCARE Hospital at Palmetto Health Baptist. She is a USC Salkahetchie and USC College of Nursing alumna. She is currently chair of the Partnership Board.

  • Jay Hamm

    Jay Hamm, MNA, RN, FACHE

    Hamm is the acute care executive at Palmetto Health Richland. He is an alumnus of the USC College of Nursing and holds degrees in biology and health administration, also from USC.

  • Pattie Heady

    Patricia M. Heady, ADN

    Pattie Heady is a ’75 alumna of the USC College of Nursing. She is an engagement partner for the Center of Nursing Excellence at Palmetto Health. Heady is a former labor and delivery nurse.

  • Ann Henry

    Ann Henry

    Henry is a founding member of the USC College of Nursing Partnership Board and served as the first board president. She is an alumna of the University of Mississippi with a BA in Education.

  • Eileen Leaphart

    Eileen Leaphart, MN, RN

     Leaphart is a retired associate professor from the USC College of Nursing. She is a 1971 BSN and 1975 MN alumna of the college. She previously worked in various roles at the Medical College of Georgia and Mercer University.

  • Gary Lee

    Gary Lee

     Lee is an executive territory manager for Medtronic. He is a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses. Lee is an alumnus of the University of South Carolina.

  • Brenda Nauful

    Brenda Nauful, CRNA, RNC, EdD

    Nauful received her BSN and MSN from the USC College of Nursing, and her MEd and EdD from the USC College of Education. Her certifications are in the fields of newborn and perinatal nursing.

  • Nancy Reynolds

    Nancy Reynolds, RN, FCN, MEd

    Reynolds is an alumna of the USC College of Nursing. She is a founding member of the South Carolina Nurses Association as well as the USC College of Nursing Partnership Board.

  • BJ Roof

    Betty Joyce (B.J.) Roof, ADN, BSN, MN

    Roof is the director of clinical informatics at Palmetto Health Baptist. She is a three-time alumna from the USC College of Nursing. She received the college’s Outstanding Nurse Alumna Award in 2012.

  • Caroline Seigler

    Caroline Seigler, MN, FACHE

    Seigler is the system vice president of clinical informatics officer at Palmetto Health Baptist. She is an alumna of the USC CON and recipient of the college’s Outstanding Nurse Alumna award. She is a founding member of the Partnership Board.

  • Ashley Sirianni

    Ashley Sirianni, DNP, RN

    Sirianni is a nurse practitioner in Winnsboro, SC. She is an ’08 BSN and '16 DNP alumna of the USC College of Nursing. She has previously worked as a PACU nurse at Palmetto Health Richland and with the SC Department of Health and Human Services.

  • Carolyn Swinton

    Carolyn Swinton, RN, MN, NEA-BC, FACHE

    Swinton is chief nursing officer for Palmetto Health. She has served in a number of clinical and leadership roles in her 26 years in nursing. She is a recipient of the Amy V. Cockcroft Excellence in Leadership and Palmetto Gold Awards for nursing.

  • Joyce Winkler

    Joyce Winkler, RN, MPH

    Winkler is nurse consultant at Eau Claire Cooperative Health Centers, Inc. She is a ’75 BSN alumna of the USC College of Nursing.

  • Karen Worthy

    Karen Worthy, PhD, MPH, RN

    Worthy is a clinical assistant professor at the USC College of Nursing. She has received five degrees from the University of South Carolina. She has 18 years of experience in nursing.
