Background

Dr. Boyd received her PhD from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in 1995 and her MN and BSN from the University of Mississippi in Jackson, MS, in 1976 and 1973, respectively.

Teaching

Dr. Boyd’s area of teaching expertise is psychiatric mental health nursing. She teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Classes taught include Advanced Research Methods in the PhD Program and Research Methods for the Masters and DNP Programs.

Dr. Boyd’s dissemination activities include paper presentations at the International Association of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses conferences, local presentations, a publication in Archives of Psychiatric Nursing and Issues in Mental Health Nursing.
