Background
Dr. Cox received her BSN at the Medical University of South Carolina, her Master of Nursing at Emory University, and her PhD at the Gillings School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Teaching
Dr. Cox’s teaching experience spans all degree programs. She currently teaches research, evidence-based practice, and population health in the MSN and DNP programs.
Research
Adolescent risk behaviors, microaggression, incarcerated youth
Dissemination
Dr. Cox has a history of funding, presentations, and publications in parenting and adolescent risk behavior, microaggressions in health care, and teaching methodologies.
Professional Service
Dr. Cox is a member of the USC Carolina Judicial Council and is a volunteer consultant for the South Carolina Cass Elias Guardian ad Litem program.
Professional Practice
Dr. Cox currently practices at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice and USC’s Center for Health and Well Being.
