College of Pharmacy

Pursuit of the dual Pharm.D. and MHIT degree prepares you to be a leader in medical informatics at all levels of health care to ensure that health IT supports patient safety aims.

The Pharm.D./Masters of Health Information Technology (MHIT) program is designed to equip you with expertise in management of both health care systems and information technology. The coursework creates a workforce of highly skilled IT experts and healthcare managers and provides leadership and proficiency as U.S. healthcare systems continue to advance technologically.

The dual-degree program is offered between the College of Pharmacy and the Integrated Information Technology (IIT) program at the University of South Carolina. The MHIT program, housed within the IIT program in the College of Engineering and Computing starting fall 2017, is an interdisciplinary program with the Arnold School of Public Health.
