Clinical Areas of Specialty

Clinical faculty within the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Outcomes Sciences (CPOS) each have areas of specialty where they work at hospital, community and other practice sites across the state. These specialties include oncology, infectious diseases, cardiovascular, endocrine, transitions of care, medication therapy management, toxicology, medication safety and adherence, gastroenterology, pediatrics, geriatrics, sterile compounding and health outcomes.

In recent years, clinical sites have expanded to three new practice areas at Palmetto Health: heart failure transitions of care, outpatient physician practices and inter-professional care for chronic disease state management. There is also a clinical expert in sterile compounding and USP 797 training at the College of Pharmacy, as well as an expert in innovative practice models.
