Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics

Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) research models evaluate the time course of the desired or undesired effects in response to drug therapy.

Pharmacokinetics is the analysis of drug disposition in an array of biological samples (e.g. plasma, urine). Pharmacodynamics is the relationship between the concentration of a drug and the response obtained within a patient.

Our Clinical Pharmacy and Outcomes Sciences faculty focus on pharmacokinetics principles and pharmacodynamics relationships to optimize drug therapy in individual patients.
