Colloquium Series

Here at the Cancer Prevention and Control Program, we thrive on collaboration with researchers, staff, students and community partners to foster a research environment conducive to conceptualizing, developing and implementing innovative research and outreach activities to address cancer disparities in South Carolina and beyond. One of the many avenues we have created to encourage such collaboration is our Colloquium Series.

The ultimate goal of our Colloquium Series is to enhance our research relationships and promote collaborative efforts, building on existing research programs and expanding into new directions. The Colloquium Series features our faculty, staff and students at the program, other cancer researchers from across campus and external collaborators, all of whom share their newest and most exciting research and invite discussion about opportunities for partnerships and cooperation. The Colloquium Series is open to anyone wishing to present cancer research ideas and receive constructive feedback and has historically included researchers with a variety of interests and experiences across the cancer research continuum, from bench to bedside to community outreach. The Colloquium Series is an ideal setting for researchers at all levels to interact in a 90-minute format that includes a 45-minute presentation followed by 45 minutes of discussion. The presentations are informal, and questions or requests for clarification may be asked throughout the presentation. We believe that engaging in collegial discussions will strengthen our approaches to cancer research and allow us to accomplish more as an interdisciplinary, interactive research community.

Further Information

The Colloquium Series is open to all USC faculty, staff and students, as well as any interested research partners or community members. For more information about attending or presenting at our Colloquium Series, please contact Julia Houston. Future series dates are being planned currently.
