Excerpt from the Walterboro Walking Tour Featuring research on the local history and cultural life of Walterboro, S.C., this project was created by a USC Salkehatchie student, Shirley Urcho, in collaboration with Ann Carmichael, Dean of the campus. The tour is narrated by Churchill Curtis, a member of the faculty and the first Dean of USC Salkehatchie. Visitors to the city borrow the sound track and follow the directions through town to experience the cultural and historical features Walterboro has to offer. This project has aided historical preservation as well as the growth of tourism in this region of the state.
