Capstone Scholars have the opportunity to live and study in a residential community and take advantage of special courses, peer study groups, and social activities. Open to all students from all majors, the Capstone Scholars Program is designed to promote intellectual curiosity and interdisciplinary thinking. Beyond the campus borders students explore international experiences, career development, community service, and independent research.

Each Capstone Scholar is required to take University 101 as a first-year student. Specific sections have been created for Capstone Scholars. Students may choose a “general” Capstone Scholars section or other Capstone Scholars sections related to their academic area of interest.

For additional information on the Capstone Scholars program visit the Capstone Scholars homepage or contact Dr. John Spurrier, Faculty Principal for Capstone Scholars at (803) 777-5072 or spurrier@stat.sc.edu.
