Per the request of many faculty members, instructors can now view photographs of their students in Blackboard.

"The addition of photographs will allow professors to easily identify their students, which will provide a direct and positive benefit to both students and faculty. I sincerely thank everyone across the university who helped make this service delivery a reality," said Bill Hogue, vice president for information technology and chief information officer.

Others echoed his excitement.

"This is very exciting news and I want to thank all who worked on this initiative. This is another step in creating a stronger sense of community and will help faculty to 'attach a name to a face.' That ability is key especially in our large, first and second-year courses," said Dean Mary Anne Fitzpatrick of the College of Arts and Sciences.

To access photographs, instructors should go to the "control panel" of their class, select "course tools," and then select "photo roster." Instructors will be taken to a page that shows the students' pictures and names. More details can be found on the University Technology Services' website.
