The University of South Carolina recently announced the first class of faculty leaders in a new professional development program.

Provost Michael Amiridis and Chris Byrd, vice president for Human Resources, named 26 faculty members to the pilot year of UofSC’s new Pipeline for Academic Leaders (PAL) program. These fellows, chosen for their notable contributions to campus life represent 12 schools and colleges and were chosen from dozens of nominees.

The program for faculty members and administrators builds on other campus efforts and the Southeastern Conference University’s Academic Leadership Development Program. Designed and funded by the provost and human resources offices, the fellowship is a yearlong, invitation-only program for campus leaders who are ready to take their talents to the next level, while also addressing UofSC’s capacity-building needs.
