Your physical and mental health can have a powerful impact on your academic success. That’s why Campus Wellness offers a variety of services for the UofSC community. Offerings available to students are preventive health screenings, physical fitness assessments and exercise consultations, sexual health consultations (and protection methods), nutrition information and consultations, tobacco cessation and stress management.

Services are available for free or low cost to students, with both ongoing drop-in and appointment-based services available at several locations on campus.

Preventive Health Screenings

  • Services offered are blood pressure screenings, body fat percentage analysis and measurements of weight, height and body mass index. Services are free for students, faculty and staff and take only a few minutes to complete. Additional services include cholesterol and lipid testing, as well as glucose screenings.

Physical Fitness Assessments and Exercise Consultations

  • Services include body fat percent measurement, fitness assessments and exercise consultations.

Sexual Health Consultations, and protection methods

  • Campus Wellness provides a safe space for students to ask questions and get information about sexuality and sexual health to make informed choices that work for them.

Nutrition Information and Consultations

  • Services offered regularly throughout the academic year include one-on-one nutrition consultations, grocery store tours, cooking demonstrations and metabolic testing.

Tobacco Cessation

  • Quitting smoking is a challenge but one that can be overcome with preparation and support. Carolina’s Tobacco Treatment Program is a comprehensive program grounded in Public Health theory. The program is designed to assess an individual’s readiness to change by utilizing various motivational interviewing techniques and behavioral change strategies.

Stress Management

  • Campus Wellness offers a variety of resources and opportunities for students to explore stress management strategies and relaxation techniques, including workshops and guided imagery.
