Carolina Alert: winter weather

Winter is here and while we do not expect any deviation from our normal campus operations in the immediate future, the return to campus this semester is a good time to remind the Carolina Family of the following regarding weather related delays and closings:
As a state agency, the University must follow the delay and closing determinations of Richland County Government. (Please note this is not Richland County school districts.)
Once the decision has been made by Richland County, we will send notifications using the Carolina Alert system: text messages, email, social media and sc.edu gateways. We will also notify local news outlets to include our delays and closings with their announcements.
