The world's largest student film festival, Campus MovieFest , is returning to the University of South Carolina Thursday, Feb. 12 thanks to Carolina Productions.

Students who sign up for CMF receive everything they need to make a five-minute movie in a week – a laptop loaded with Adobe Creative Cloud, a Panasonic HD camera, training, and support – all for free. New this year, all participants will receive external storage from Western Digital during their moviemaking week, and select students will receive Panasonic’s new LUMIX GH4 cameras.

Students register online before moviemaking launches at UofSC Tuesday, Feb. 3. Students then have one week to film and edit their movies about anything of their choosing.

Movies are turned in on Monday, Feb. 9 and then judged by a panel of UofSC students, faculty and staff.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, the top short movies will be shown at  a red carpet finale at Russell House Ballroom. Top winners from UofSC advance to CMF Hollywood in June 2015. UofSC winners are also invited to join the CMF Distinguished Filmmakers Network, a program that provides top students with opportunities ranging from paid content production to a chance to use the latest RED Digital Cinema cameras to shoot their next big project, plus many other unforgettable experiences within the film industry.
