The Counseling and Human Development Center provides UofSC students with a safe place to speak privately with a trained counselor about a variety of concerns, including stress, anxiety, loneliness, depression, relationship difficulties, questions about identity, eating concerns, substance use concerns and more.

Other services include individual, couple and group counseling, as well as suicide prevention and crisis intervention services.

Students who have paid the student health fee are eligible for 10 individual visits each academic year at no additional charge. Students can also meet with a psychiatrist for an additional fee.

The counseling center, located on the 7th floor of the Byrnes Building, is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Counselors see clients 2-8 p.m. Sundays in the Thomson Student Health Center.
