In honor of Earth Day on April 22, here are a few ways you can be environmentally friendly at UofSC.
  • Meatless Mondays: For one day a week, say no to burgers and steak and eat something green. It'll save some animals and be a little healthier for you too.
  • Recycle: It's getting close to that time to move out for the summer. Be careful what you just toss in the trash can. You can recycle mixed paper (anything that tears), flattened cardboard, aluminum cans and plastic bottles, glass, light bulbs, batteries, ink cartridges, scrap metal and e-scrap.
  • Carpool: When everyone drives to and from school, it doesn't just clog up the roads, it pollutes the air. Carpool and save money on some gas to help make our city cleaner.
  • Volunteer in the Carolina Community Farm & Garden
  • Turn off your air conditioner and open the windows: On breezy spring days, sometimes all you need is a fan and a window to cool down you study space. Save energy by making use of the natural air conditioners we have outside.
