National Public Safety Telecommunicator’s Week will be held April 12-18.

UofSC’s Division of Law Enforcement and Safety is recognizing its Telecommunications Unit personnel during this special week.  These employees provide police dispatch 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They answer 911 calls, calls from emergency call boxes and non-emergency calls.  In addition, they monitor inputs from the Rave Guardian Safety App, burglar and fire alarms on UofSC campuses across the state and campus video cameras. They work diligently behind the scenes and often go unrecognized for the valuable services they provide.

This week provides an opportunity to honor the telecommunications staff and say “thank you” for their hard work and dedication to the safety of the UofSC community.
