As UofSC welcomes new students to campus, faculty and staff members should be prepared for an influx of pedestrian traffic around campus Aug. 15-17, especially around the Colonial Life Arena.

There will be a large number of student and family pedestrians walking to and from the Colonial Life Arena for several events during Carolina Welcome.

On Saturday, Aug. 15, students will walk to the arena from their residence halls across campus for First Night Carolina between 7-11 p.m.

On Sunday, Aug. 16, students and their families will walk from their residence halls across campus for New Student Convocation from 3-6 p.m.

On Monday, Aug. 17, students and some faculty and staff will attend First-Year Reading Experience at the arena and will be traveling across campus from 8 a.m. to noon.

Faculty and staff members are asked to be aware of pedestrians and plan for heavy foot-traffic in these areas.
