Give it up for good this winter
By Student Editor, mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org
At the end of each semester, University Housing collects donations from students to keep thousands of pounds of reusable items out of the landfill, give back to local charities and help you clean out your residence hall room.
Through the Give It Up for Good Winter Donation Drive, students can donate nonperishable food, clothing, household goods (cleaning supplies, decorations, furniture, etc.), office supplies and appliances at donation centers set up in residence hall lobbies. The donation boxes will be available in residence halls Nov. 30-Dec. 14.
Faculty and staff can also donate their goods. On Dec. 16 from 1-5 p.m. outside of 720 College St. (Pearle Lab) faculty and staff should look for a donation box and signage on the loading dock. If you have trouble finding it or need help unloading donations, call Margaret Bounds at 803-777-6331.
Food collected will be donated to Harvest Hope. The other items will be sold at a yard sale to benefit Habitat for Humanity.
The Give It Up for Good Winter Sale will be Jan. 9.
