Employment Opportunities

The Children’s Center at USC is often seeking teachers with a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Candidates should have prior experience with young children. Applicants who wish to be considered for employment are requested to submit their resumé and three professional references along with a completed employment application

Work-Study Opportunities at the Children’s Center at USC
All work-study students employed by the Center are required to:

  • file paperwork with USC’s Financial Aid office and meet the criteria for Financial Aid
  • apply at the Children’s Center at USC
  • satisfy requirements described in South Carolina Childcare Licensing Regulations.
  1. Office Assistants Students will be working in the Children’s Center assisting the administration team and other staff as needed. Students' primary work will include typing, faxing, answering phones, filing, making copies, computer data entry, and doing on-line research. Students should enjoy working with children, parents and staff. Successful applicants will be expected to learn quickly, to show initiative and flexibility, to be dependable, show attention to detail, and to be computer literate. Available hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am-6:00pm
  2. Classroom Aides Assistant teachers working in Children’s Center classrooms will share responsibility for caring for young children and will be expected to help with other classroom duties. Their work will be supervised by Center administrators and other full time employees. Requirements include the desire to work with young children and their parents, experience working with young children (paid or volunteer), good communication skills, dependability, and flexibility. Available hours: Monday through Friday. 8:00am-6:30pm.
  3. Kitchen Aides Kitchen employees must be friendly to children, parents and staff at the center. Job responsibilities include helping with the preparation / distribution of food, picking up and washing dishes, organizing the kitchen and its storage areas, and taking out trash from the kitchen and classrooms. Available hours: Monday through Friday 7:30 am-2:00 pm.
