ABOUT THE BOOKAs the original publishers of My Health is Better in November, the University of South Carolina Press has had hundreds, maybe thousands, of inquiries asking when the book would be reprinted. Every Christmas we receive calls from people all over the country wanting any book by Havilah Babcock. At last, for his old faithful fans and for new fans about to enjoy an unexpected treat, here is My Health is Better in November: Thirty-five stories of Hunting and Fishing in the South by Havilah Babcock. Although these stories were first collected in 1947, they have not lost their appeal. They are packed with humor and developed with such true originality that they will delight and amuse even those who have never shouldered a gun or cast a fly.
ABOUT THE AUTHORThe late Havilah Babcock was chair of the English department at the University of South Carolina for many years, but, by his own admission, teaching interfered with his hunting and fishing only on occasion. Babcock's other books include Tales of Quails 'n Such.
