ABOUT THE AUTHORS

The late M. Glenn Abernathy was Professor Emeritus, Department of Government and International Studies at the University of South Carolina. Abernathy was author of The Right of Assembly and Association and the first five editions of Civil Liberties Under the Consitution.

Barbara A. Perry is associate professor and chair of the Department of Government at Sweet Briar College, Virginia. She is author of A "Representative" Supreme Court?: The Impact of Race, Religion, and Gender on Appointments and co-author of Unfounded Fears: Myths and Realities of a Constitutional Convention.
