Publishing Assistant

Job Summary
This position is responsible for a variety of duties, including the preparation of publishing agreements, serving as the receptionist and general office manager, coordinating subsidiary rights, and serving as the Press's Human Resource liaison.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in publishing, contracts, and human resources. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, organizational skills, and the ability to establish priorities and manage concurrent tasks are required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Proficient with personal computers have a working knowledge of the following software applications: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, PeopleSoft, PeopleAdmin, and FileMaker Pro (or an equivalent database software).

Position Details
Salary Range: $33,494 – $47,734
Full-time with benefits (eligible for South Carolina retirement, state insurance programs, annual leave and sick leave)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
