Book jacket for Wintergreen

A Nazi party member from Hals and a German prison guard kneel beside the body of a Russian slave laborer who was killed by SS troops near Tiefenbach, near Passau .

They were forced to view the atrocity by U.S. Third Army troops. The victim was one of 100 Russians interned in a barn in Oberjacking, a small village near Tiefenbach.
