| The USC Department of History is sponsoring a southern women's history speaker at 4 p.m. Nov. 18 in Gambrell Hall, Room 006.
Marjorie Spruill, associate vice chancellor for institutional planning and research professor of history at Vanderbilt University, will speak on "The Polarization of American Women: The 1977 International Women's Year Conferences and America's Right Turn."
Spruill is the author of New Women of the New South: The Leaders of the Woman
Suffrage Movement in the Southern States (Oxford U. Press, 1993).
The event is free and open to the public.
