| Harvard scholar Timothy McCarthy will speak on "Black Protect and the American Radical Traditoin" at 4 p.m. April in Gambrell Hall, Room 429. A reception will follow the lecture. Both events are free and open to the public.
McCarthy is currently a visiting scholar at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. His permanent post is as lecturer and co-chair, Committee on Instruction, Department of History and Literature, Harvard University.
McCarthy is coeditor of The Radical Reader: A Documentary History of the Radical Tradition, and author of the forthcoming The Fires This Time: Black Church Burnings in the American South. He is working on a book on American Abolitionism.
