Child behavior scientist Kurt Hahlweg to speak Nov. 7

Kurt Hahlweg will speak from 3:30–5 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Walsh Conference Room on the second floor of the Barnwell Building. Hahlweg's lecture is titled, "Universal Prevention of Child Behavior Problems."

The colloquium, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the USC Research Consortium on Children and Families.

Kurt Hahlweg
Hahlweg is a professor at the Technical University of Braunschweig, and director of the Department for Clinical Psychology, Psychotherapy, and Assessment. He received his Diploma in Psychology from Hamburg University in 1973, as well as his Ph.D. in 1977. His research interests include interpersonal factors and psychopathology; expressed emotion; family management in schizophrenia; treatment of anxiety disorders; behavioral marital and family therapy; and prevention of marital distress and child behavior problems.
