Twelve NCAA basketball coaches and sports personalities, including USC's head basketball coach Dave Odom, traveled to Kuwait to coach military teams in the Operation Hardwood II basketball tournament May 23-28.
In addition to coaching basketball, the coaches also learned about military life in Kuwait and Kuwaiti culture. They answered troops' questions during a town hall meeting and signed autographs, took photographs, and met with troops. They also visited troops at the Arifjan hospital and held a basketball clinic for Kuwait children in Kuwait City.
