William O. "Bill" Bearden, a marketing professor in the Moore School of Business, has been appointed faculty athletics representative for USC athletics.

Bearden will advise President Sorensen on matters related to the athletics programs and will work with the president to determine the University's position on NCAA legislation. He also will review the eligibility, admission, and progress of student-athletes; assist in evaluating compliance with NCAA regulations; and attend SEC and NCAA meetings, serving as the University's voting delegate at the NCAA's annual meeting.
