Expert to discuss 'Hurricanes and Global Warming' Feb. 22

Christopher Landsea of the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami will be at USC Feb. 22 to discuss the relationship between hurricanes and global warming.

The lecture, "Hurricanes and Global Warming: Expectations and Observations," will be at 3:30 p.m. in Callcott, Room 011, on South Bull Street.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

Landsea, who has been outspoken about global warming and future hurricane intensity and frequency, is the NHC's science and operations officer. He is one of the center's top experts in seasonal forecasting of hurricanes, hurricane climate variability and change, and the application of research for possible use in weather forecasting.
