Jazz saxophonist and composer Ken Vandermark and percussionist Tim Daisy will perform together July 3 in the Recital Hall at the University of South Carolina School of Music. The school is located next to the Koger Center for the Arts on the University's campus.
Vandermark and Daisy have been performing, recording, and touring together in a number of groups based in Chicago since 2001, including Sound In Action trio, The Frame Quartet, and the Crisis Ensemble. Drawing on numerous musical influences, they combine their creative energies to further explore and assemble sound in an improvised context.
Cost to attend the concert is $5 per person at the door. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; the event begins at 8 p.m.
