The University will support a rally to protest genocide in Darfur at 2 p.m. Oct. 6 on the steps of the Statehouse.

"We expect to show people all over the world that the University of South Carolina is going to have a presence," said Columbia businessman Marvin Chernoff, who announced the rally at the fall General Faculty Meeting Sept. 5. "President Sorensen has been active in support of the rally. He's written to 50 other college presidents around the state asking them to attend."
