The Institute for Southern Studies at the University of South Carolina will present its Grace Jordan McFadden Lecture at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Palmetto Room at the Inn at USC.
Trudier Harris, the J. Carlyle Sitterson Professor of English at UNC Chapel Hill will be the speaker. Her talk is entitled, "The Scary Mason-Dixon Line: African-American Writers and the South."
The Inn at USC is located at 1619 Pendleton Street on the USC campus.
