STEP 13:
Deploy
Once approval has been given by the Web Presence Team, the redesigned Web site can be made public. If any URLs have changed from the old site to the new site, you may want to consider having forwarding pages for any users that may have bookmarked portions of your site. Be sure to notify the University Web master if any URL has changed for a link that is listed in the University's portal site. E-mail to webpresence@sc.edu or portal@sc.edu
Please consider security as part of your deployment process. If you administer your own server, you should ensure that you are up-to-date with all of the current service packs and critical security updates for your operating system and Web server software. Also, if any of the pages of your site have forms that transmit sensitive information such as social security or credit card numbers, you should obtain an SSL certificate and use the secure HTTP protocol (https). Never store complete credit card numbers on any USC-owned storage system (including e-mail mailboxes).
