Navigation Buttons Like the other typographic aspects of the Web Presence, the type specifications for the navigation buttons are built into the templates. For Web masters who choose the graphic-based template, the navigation buttons and menu items will have to be changed in an image-manipulation program such as Adobe PhotoShop.
The all-capitals style of the menu items is the preferred presentation, but caps and lowercase can be used. The idea behind the all-caps structure is that these represent the major categories of your site under which all other links and menu items are organized. This site, for example, uses this structure with the LNAV menus in all caps and the related menu items (listed at right) in caps and lowercase.
The following illustrations show the left navigation and header top navigation buttons, their file names, and their typographic specifications.
