“USC Connect: Integrating Learning Within and Beyond the Classroom” was selected as the Bronze Award Winner for the NASPA 2016 Excellence Award for Civic learning, Democratic Engagement, Service-Learning, Community Service, and Related category.

The award recognizes USC Connect's impact on student learning, cross-campus collaboration, originality and sustainability.  While USC Connect is housed in the Office of the Provost, its close collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs was key to this recognition.

“Each year, NASPA recognizes the outstanding contributions of members who are transforming higher education through exceptional programs, innovative services, and effective administration. NASPA's Excellence Awards cover eleven categories  . . . [The Civic Learning, Democratic Engagement, Service-Learning, Community Service, and Related award focuses on] a program’s ability to  improve institutional culture, policy, and practice in order to advance  . . . educational opportunities to prepare students for active citizenship and active participation in our nation's democracy.”
